According to the “German foot report” published by the German Shoe Institute (DSI) and the German Shoe Industry Association (HDS), 80 percent of Germans wear footwear that does not correspond to their feet. It has also been observed that, while feet have not grown any longer over the past few decades, they have become noticeably broader. According to researchers, finding the right shoe width is the main problem encountered by consumers.
To conduct the study, scientists from the Test and Research Institute Pirmasens (PFI) and the Hohenstein Clothing Physiological Institute examined the feet of 5,200 men and women over a period of three years.
The study may be different, but the observation is nothing new. That is why, more than 25 years ago, Christian Bär created freedom for your toes in a generous toe zone.
