I bought these shoes for use in cold weather,and ordered a size larger the usual to allow the use of thicker socks.For walking,and especially for cycling,they were very effective at keeping my warm,(a problem for me in the winter).The wide fit and generous toe area were exactly what I needed in the very cold weather which we experienced in the UK recently.
