No Limits

Some ultra-marathon runners have been known to cut off the front caps of their running shoes to prevent injury to their toes: for some years, BÄR has "been there", making special shoes with freedom of movement for the toes of runners on the "ultra" scene. Joey Kelly is a perfect example of what we mean by this. Given the fact that his feet are of such overwhelming importance for his activities 'out there' at the limits of endurance, it was only a question of time for him and BÄR to find their way to each other.

Joey, who is most familiar with family-owned businesses that chart their own courses, was really enthused when he met BÄR, a most unconventional family business. In keeping with the Kelly family in its day, Bär positions itself successfully by swimming upstream against the current of competition. When Joey Kelly finally came to meet Joe Nimble, friendship and a common way forward became evident. The love of being "at the limit", and a fascination for unique products, make Joey Kelly the ideal partner for development work and tests. In 2012, Joey Kelly is going to hike right across the USA wearing BÄR shoes. But he also wears them to run to his local bakery and on his daily training runs.
